Academic Sustainability Program

The Academic Sustainability Program welcomes applications for new electives in the Minor in Sustainability Studies. In general, at least 50% of course content should be focused on issues that are clearly linked to one or more of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. This content can be achieved through lecture and discussion topics, readings, assignments, research papers, and more. If you have an open-ended research topic, the committee might ask that you require students taking the course for Sustainability Studies credit to create a contract in which they agree to focus on a sustainability-related topic.

To submit your course, you will need to provide basic information about the class, a current syllabus, and a description of how the class would contribute to the minor. The Sustainability Studies Curriculum Committee will review your submission and vote on approval; the Director of the program will notify you of the committee’s decision.
